Every Friday night the quiet fishing village of Gros Islet becomes the main island attraction as the streets are closed off to traffic and become home to the island’s most festive street party. The name, “Jump up” is fitting since you will want to jump up and dance as speakers are blaring Soca, Reggae and Caribbean music. Vendors sell food such as barbequed chicken, fresh conch and local drinks. Locals and tourists join the party alike, which begins around 9 and lasts until well after midnight. |
